About FeelingsHelper
Last updated August 24, 2026 · Published by Cuyahoga Valley Mindful Health and Wellness LLC (CVMHW)
FeelingsHelper is a free library of more than sixty interactive psychoeducational companions for autistic, ADHD, AuDHD, PTSD, and trauma-affected kids, teens, and adults. It exists so the skills people practice in a counseling office have somewhere to live during the six days a week they are not in one.
Who builds it
FeelingsHelper is written and maintained by Eric Riesterer, M.A., LPCC — an independently licensed professional clinical counselor in Ohio and founder of Cuyahoga Valley Mindful Health and Wellness LLC (CVMHW), a Veteran-owned, neurodivergent-affirming practice serving Northeast Ohio with telehealth in additional licensed states. Ohio license E.2606791; Arizona LPC-717; Minnesota LPC-717; Indiana LPC-2058. Individual NPI 1427670363; practice NPI 1578276747.
Background and training
Walsh University — B.A. in Clinical Psychology and M.A. in Counseling and Human Development, with a research focus in trauma psychotherapy. Clinical experience includes CommQuest Services in Canton, Ohio, Walsh University's Fr. Herttna Counseling Center, and Child & Adolescent Behavioral Health placements in the GlenOak and Plain Local school communities. Eric is a U.S. Army Reservist with six years of service as a Petroleum Supply Specialist (92F), and has coached cross country and track across Northeast Ohio school districts.
What the tools are built on
Companions draw on cognitive behavioral therapy, rational emotive behavior therapy, dialectical behavior therapy skills, Cognitive Processing Therapy–informed trauma psychoeducation, behavioral activation, values and purpose work including Ikigai and logotherapy, spoon theory and energy pacing, polyvagal-informed grounding, interoception awareness, and attachment-informed relationship skills. Language is neurodivergent-affirming and non-pathologizing by design: no ABA-style compliance training, no "fixing" framing.
Editorial and clinical stance
- Content is written and reviewed by a licensed clinician, and is general psychoeducation rather than individualized advice.
- Every companion is framed as a between-session adjunct, not as a replacement for care.
- Nothing on the site diagnoses, scores, or screens for a condition.
- Sensory load matters: muted color, restrained motion, short labels, and large touch targets are deliberate accessibility choices.
- Corrections are welcome — email CVMHW@proton.me if something reads as inaccurate, stigmatizing, or clinically off.
Who it is for
Autistic, ADHD, and AuDHD kids from about age nine, teens, and adults; people living with PTSD, complex trauma, grief, anxiety, or burnout; parents and caregivers who want shared language at home; and therapists, school counselors, and social workers who want a free handout-and-practice library that will not embarrass a neurodivergent client with infantilizing graphics.
Cost, accounts, and privacy
Everything is free, with no account, no sign-up, and no paywall. Entries are stored only in your own browser and are never transmitted to a server. Full detail is on the privacy policy at /privacy.
Clinical services are separate
FeelingsHelper is an educational project. Actual therapy, athletic performance counseling, and community life coaching are provided separately through Cuyahoga Valley Mindful Health and Wellness LLC (CVMHW) at https://www.cvmhw.com. Using this site does not begin, imply, or reserve clinical care.
