Free Private Feelings Journal

A free private feelings journal for autistic, ADHD, and trauma-affected users. Name the emotion, rate the intensity, and track patterns over time. Entries stay in your own browser.

Why journaling helps neurodivergent brains

Alexithymia — difficulty identifying and describing your own emotions — is common in autism, ADHD, and trauma. Writing a feeling down turns a vague body sensation into a named, sized, workable thing. Over time the entries show patterns: which situations spike distress, which coping skills actually lower it, and how long a wave usually lasts.

How to use it

  1. Name the feeling, or pick the closest word from the list.
  2. Rate the intensity from 0 to 10, the same scale used by the SUDS distress tool.
  3. Write what happened just before it, in one or two sentences.
  4. Note what you tried and whether the number moved.
  5. Look back weekly for patterns rather than judging any single entry.
